Classic Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into strips
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Brown the Beef:
    • Season beef strips with salt and pepper; dust with flour. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown beef in batches.
  2. Sauté Vegetables:
    • Remove beef; add onions and mushrooms to skillet until softened.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • Add beef broth; bring to a simmer. Return beef to skillet; stir in sour cream until heated through.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Cooking Tips:

  • For added flavor, use Worcestershire sauce in the broth.
